  76. 1-This string was originally written for the 28.8 Sportster, but it can also be used for a new variant of the Sportster 28.8 <BR>

  86. US Robotics has a new ROM and modem string that will correct this problem.<P>
  87.  
  88. The ROM version that you should use is SV 1554.  The ROM version can be found with the ATI1<BR>
  89.  
  90. command.  ROM version 32B8 has been seen to cause problems.<P>
  91.  
  92. The change to the string is the S27=48 this shuts off the LAPM phase detection. <BR>
  93.  
  94. The above string should be used with the latest ROM.<P>
  95.  
  96. <U>Explanation of string AT Commands:</U><P>
  97.  
  98. &B1 - Locks the computer to modem speed at the speed of last AT command. This is necessary<BR>
  99.  
  100. for high speed modems in order to use data compression. It is also necessary if your connection rate does not match your<BR>
  101.  
  102. DTE speed as an example a port speed of 19200 in software, will make a 14,400 data connection.<P>
  103.  
  104. &D2 - Normal DTR operations. Modem resets upon receipt of DTR.<P>
  105.  
  106. &R2 - Hardware receive flow control uses the RTS signal to regulate the flow of data to the<BR>
  107.  
  108. modem.<P>
  109.  
  110. &K1- Auto enable/disable. The modem enables compression if the serial port rate <BR>
  111.  
  112. is fixed (&B1) and disables compresssion if the serial port rate follows the connection rate (&B0).<P>
  113.  
  114. &W - Write to the modem's non-volatile RAM. Each time you reset the modem with ATZ or<BR>
  115.  
  116. recycle the power, it will come up with the parameters stored in NVRAM.<P>
  117.  
  118. S13=1- Bit-mapped register. Reset when DTR drops.<P>
